Wool and Silk on Silk

An exquisite hand-knotted Persian Nain in soft wool and silk on a silk foundation, with approximately one million knots per square metre. Abundant silk highlights lend a delicate lustre to the exceptionally intricate floral pattern.

The deep navy-blue field beautifully showcases curling leaves, flowers and flowing vines in ivory, soft blue, warm beige and muted brown, with small touches of rust red. At its centre, the classic Nain medallion features two subtly contrasting shades of pale and light blue—an intentional feature of the woven design that gives it depth and character, rather than an indication of fading.
