A beautiful antique Persian Mahal rug, hand-knotted in wool on a cotton foundation and estimated to be more than 80 years old. The design features a rhythmic arrangement of elegant vases overflowing with stylised flowers, framed by a richly decorated floral border.
The softened colours and gently time-worn surface give the rug an attractive, authentic patina that cannot be reproduced in a newer rug. Despite its age, it remains in overall good condition, with some natural wear and irregularities consistent with more than eight decades of use.
The rug has been newly washed and is clean and ready to lay. Its manageable size and warm, characterful colours would work particularly well in a living room, bedroom, study or entrance hall.
